Igor Kovalyov is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, designer, animator, and director. His short films 'Andrei Svislotsky,' 'The Flying Nansen,' 'Bird in the Window,' 'Milch,' and 'Hen, His Wife' (video feature courtesy of Cristiano Alves) have received numerous awards and accolades throughout the animation and film community. Born 1954 in Kiev, Ukraine, Kovalyov co-founded Pilot, the first independent film/animation studio in Russia. He remains a significant figure in late and post-soviet animation.
